There seems to be an abundance of help and advice available to first time buyers, but what about first time sellers?

You have already stepped on the property ladder, bought your first property a few years ago and perhaps feel you should be experienced in the process?  You are in fact, more likely to feel very nervous about the whole thing!  Unlike your first house purchase, you are now having to deal with two properties, the one you are selling as well as the one you are buying, and no doubt having to deal with both sides of a chain as it is likely that your second property purchase will be in the middle of the property chain.

As I have always said to all clients, there is really no need to panic! This is why you employ an estate agent, mortgage adviser, solicitor and surveyor - to guide you through the entire process.  An estate agent would not be able to do the job of a teacher; just like a solicitor could not understand the vocation of a nurse or carer – so why should you be expected to know our job?  At Fraser St James, we work very closely with our appointed mortgage adviser, solicitor and surveyor, all of which can offer you a free initial meeting, to calm any worries and answer any questions or queries you may have, even before you make the decision to put your house up for sale!
